Very different now to the previous blog. At about 2am this morning the wind began to fill in, so all hands where called on deck (pardon the pun!) to drop our very large No.1 headsail and change to our smaller No.3 headsail.
This (credit to all the crew) went very well and we did not lose much ground on the others. We where soon back up to speed and hot on the tail of the other boats on the horizon.
As daylight appeared we found ourselves not chasing the fleet but actually being chased by Isis (the only boat now visible). The wind is now around 25kts from the west making it difficult to make a good course to Madeira.
At the moment it looks like we will arrive around 12 hours from now, meaning arriving some time between 3-4am. Despite being a little cold and wet now everyone is well and, I believe, enjoying themselves.
Look out Madeira here we come!
