After a few warm days in Madeira where were were made truly welcome by the Mayor and friends at the Clube Naval do Madeira, we made final preparations to start our journey south.
We were sad to say au revoir to Juno who had to stay behind for a day, but we were pleased to welcome Frans and Sarah to Minerva for this leg.
Our 3 watch system started as soon as we were under way and we have fallen into the routine well. Rory and his watch who had the 6am-9am shift this morning managed to catch a tuna but it was only a small one so we threw it back, hoping for a bigger one later on. Graham's promised that he will cook us delicious fresh tuna for dinner!
We are currently motoring due to very light winds and are on course to pass through the Canaries tonight where we hope to pick up more wind to get the headsail back up. But the sun is shining and we are in good company so all is well.
Love to all our friends and family
